Poems by Titli Das

Nature: A Creation of Almighty

Have you lost yourself amidst nature?
It relieves you during tension and pressure,
It can be the high mountain or the jungle forests:
With sweet music of the cuckoos in their nests.

Have you seen this wild waterfall?
It is at least better than the bricky shopping mall!
It has transparent locks which begin from the peak,
And finally ends beneath the lake.

Have you seen those green tall trees?
And felt Mother Nature’s soothing breeze.
Have you seen those dangerous whirlpools?
Sometimes wild and sometimes cool.

Feel the nature, it is always heavenly:
It purifies your heart and mind for free.
Mother Nature is a blessing for us really!
Then why do you destroy her mercilessly?

How to End With Friends

On the first day, you cried
On the last day, you’ll cry;
But in ‘tween full of memories
And memories that will never come back.

Funny toward friends and disciplined in front of teachers
And always remembers to turn crazy in front of our class.
Sometimes overjoyed. Sometimes overwhelmed:
And the outsiders think we’re not well tamed!

Sadness never forgets to come into our lives too,
But friends are there to help out you.
Those chorus songs and each lovely smile:
Will always be in your memory file.

What we give, what we receive
Always remains void.
But our memories with friends
Never becomes dead.

After years of friendship, now we will have to break,
Ad one day remember those days sitting beside the lake.
Our busy life then will never give us a chance to ‘take a break’:
But we’ll remember our past for our happiness’s sake!

This is life and school is its first step;
And friendship and memories are what we’ll make.
Now we began and now we will have to end,
But what I want to tell is, “REMEMBER ME AND ALWAYS BE MY FRIEND”
