In the Woods: A Poem

In the Woods

~ Sonakshi Lahiri

I wandered through the woods,
Walking, as if in a trance.
Its exquisiteness overwhelms me,
And its divinity engulfs me.

I touch the velvety leaves,
And inhale the scent of the bloomed.
Amazed at nature's perfumes!
I twirl and swirl barefoot,
My feet dances on the dewy grass.

A robin peeks at me as by her I pass.
I find myself beneath a glorious tree,
As I sit, my essence melts in its shadows,
Away from the cruel world, away from the chaos.
