Still I Can Shine : An Inspirational Poem

Still I Can Shine

~ Ayusha Agrawal

Shall I stay or shall I leave?

When no one wants me.

Not even I want me

An uncanny thought!

What is it that makes me sore?

Everything, everytime reminds me

How unwanted I am!

Leave it! Let it be!

I want to become myself

Now, a word to those:

I'm not an ant they can crawl upon,

I'm the tigress that can pounce upon.

Neither they need to regard me,

Nor will I let them degrade me.

I'll make my own shine.

Even in the acute darkness.

I won't stop that shine.

Even if they shine brighter,

I won't stop that shine.

Because I know

I can be better, brighter.

Because I know

Amidst hostilities

Still I can shine.
