Your Broken Image: A Poem

Your Broken Image

~ Riya Roy

Cursing the moment when for the first time we talked to each other
With your soft attitude you just showed off to me how much you bother.

But like a true friend your intentions were not so pure
Your deception brought me to the point where there is no cure.

Now, to be my comrade I can‘t ever trust any stranger
Because for me the so-called love is a sheer stuff of danger.

'Cause you never loved me for the sake of my heart
The only motive was to fulfil your wishes full of dirt.

You just manipulated me over and over again
Your blueprint was to drive me only to gain

To gain the prosperous fortune, to gain the dominion
I was nothing but a puppet of your hand in your opinion.

Your endearment, your care were only to fool me
You were never devoted to me like a river is devoted to the sea.

Love is unconditional; it shouldn‘t have any purpose within it
If it has then in the definition of love it can‘t be fit.

And by your credit have been proven
That your ideal image in my heart got broken.

Sadly, I can‘t move on with your broken image
Moreover relying on any bloke is now out of my courage.
